Wonderful Vacation

If you have been wondering what happened to my weekly blog, I was on vacation the past two weeks with our family in Lake Placid, NY, and then in Marilla, NY where I preached at my former church. Our son Andrew and son in law Matt both competed in the "Ironman" race and did very well. It was fun cheering them on during their 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride, and 26 mile marathon run. It is a grueling event and a real test of one's physical endurance. We are proud of Andrew and Matt's accomplishment.

On the return trip home from the Adirondack mountains, we went to western New York for 3 days, and spent time with people from our church in Marilla where I served as Pastor for 18 years before my retirement. It was a joy and blessing to see our dear Christian friends again, and I especially appreciated the kindness of Pastor Mark Hurlbut in allowing me, as a former pastor, to speak at the church on Sunday morning.

If you have been following this blog, you will be interested to know that some of the same themes of Bible prophecy I have commented on here in recent articles were shared with the congregation in Marilla. My outline was: 4 Reasons Why Heaven is Looking Better Than Ever--
1. Because this world is looking worse than ever
2. Because so many of my friends and family are waiting there
3. Because this old body is getting weary and tired
4. Because I want to know the love of Jesus up close

This Friday, the 5th of August, I will be back on track again with my weekly blog postings where I demonstrate the remarkable correlation between current events and Bible prophecy.
