Trapped With No Way Out

I can't imagine what it must be like for those 12 boys in Thailand who are trapped miles underground in a cave that has been sealed off by flood waters. The whole world has been watching the attempts to try to get these boys out safely, but the options are limited. Certainly our prayers are with the families involved in this desperate situation. It took 6 hours for an experienced scuba diver to swim through the many tight spots just to get to where they are located. The prospect of the boys (who can't swim) being able to accomplish what trained divers find difficult is slim indeed.
There is a story in the Bible where the Israelites were trapped by the waters of the Red Sea. God led them to a particular spot where they had mountains to the left and right, the sea in front of them and the Egyptian army bearing down on them from behind. There was no way out. According to Exodus 14:2, God said to Moses, "Turn and camp here". Why would God tell His people to camp in a spot where they would become trapped? Because He was testing their faith. He wanted to demonstrate that He had the power to deliver them from an impossible situation. Who would have ever thought that the way of deliverance would be through the sea?
There are times in all of our lives when we feel hemmed in by circumstances with no way out. Daniel felt that way when thrown into the den of lions. The three Hebrew children felt that way when they were cast into the fiery furnace. The disciples felt that way when they were caught in a storm at night in the middle of the Sea of Galilee.
But God is a God of deliverance. His power makes all things possible. If He led Israel into a "trap", He knew how to lead them out. "There hath no temptation taken you but that which is common to man, but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will, with the temptation, also make a way of escape that you may be able to bear it"
No matter what you are going through right now, take heart. God will see you through. He is able to deliver you.
