God Controls the Weather, Not Man

First, Nancy and I want to thank all of you for praying for our family these past few weeks, as we have gone through the funeral service of Nancy's brother, Larry. It meant so much to us that you kept us in your prayers, and I believe the memorial service honored the Lord, and paid tribute to Larry's life.

The big news last week was the hurricane that devastated the Bahamas, but spared Florida from serious damage. We certainly sympathize with those who lose their homes from such awful storms, but the way the Liberals try to capitalize on such tragedies to promote their "climate change" ideology is sickening.

Some of these climate change alarmists even went so far as to say this hurricane was "man made"! Are you kidding me? Since when does man have any control over the weather? There is nothing mankind can do to cause a hurricane. Such a notion is ludicrous.

The Bible makes it abundantly clear that God is in control of the weather. Up until now, everyone has agreed to that, even calling bad storms "acts of God". Since when did we decide to leave God out of the equation and take credit (or blame) for hurricanes?

Listen to the words of Job: "With moisture He saturates the thick clouds; He scatters the bright clouds. And they twirl about, being turned by His guidance, that they may do whatever He commands them on the face of the whole earth" (Job 37:11-12). I note with interest the phrase "twirl about" in this text, as it is a very good, simple, definition of the circular wind movements found in both hurricanes and tornadoes.

Secular humanists have a way of taking away from God His displays of power, even if such power becomes destructive. For those of us who believe the Bible, it's time to say to the "climate change religion" doomsayers: LET GOD BE GOD. Remember, He is the One who brought a world-wide flood upon the earth (something else the Liberals deny). God can do whatever He wants to do. Deal with it.
